Neighborhood Excitement: Blowing Wood

Came home this morning to a text from The Wife about the power being out. Parked, was passed by a neighbor who heard "something" and wanted to check it out.
I joined him. First, we rounded the block three houses from my place and saw this:

Here's a bad thing.
Yeah, that would cause a blackout. Did the 50mph+ winds do this, though? Probably not. See how the power lines are pulling the snapped pole? We strolled a bit to the street parallel ours, the street on which we find our backyard neighbors.

Damage, from the top
of the hill looking down.
Ah, the tree fell across the power line, which pulled the snapped pole apart. It all makes sense.

Nice damage! Ever wonder what those
can transformers were full of?
The best thing about this? Outside of some cheap fencing and shrubbery, this was the only damage:

This was all I could find.
Look closely, and you can see a horizontal scratch on the paint made by that little stick. Seriously, no houses, no cars and no people were severely damaged.
Nice shot, wind. Nice shot.
