Witty Quip (with cut catastrophe)

A coworker told me of her mother, years ago, adding to an addage someone spewed. My coworker's brother spouted for some reason, "A bird in the hand . . ."

Mom, sitting nearby, a woman never heard by the children before to utter naughty talk, said:

A bird in the hand
Is worth two in the bush,
Unless in that bush
A maiden should stand;
Then a push in that bush
Is worth two in your hand.

Cathy made us memorize her mom's quote, and would occassionally pop-quiz us to make sure we got it. It made us all laugh.
