Did anyone out there enjoy it? I ask, because I only hear good-ish things about it.
It filled me with incredulous rage, and I suspect most people are lying to themselves about their own inchoate rage just to pass with the rest of the crowd.
Seriously, I shut it down a bit more than half-way through and had to stop myself from stomping the DVD to shatters.
Anyone else? Opinions?

Date: 2017-12-09 11:05 pm (UTC)This from a person who supposedly spoke about a zillion languages and had historical, technical and other information that made the western civilization she was visiting look like a humble backwater village of simple yokels.
I was shouting to the screen that YES!!!, people kill each other, you dogmatically-crippled idiot, and do so with no help whatsoever from any celestial beings who happened to descend from [whatever stupid place] just to wreak havoc for fun's sake.
(I didn't stick around, but I kinda guessed the masked chemist was the movie's "actual" god of war, since otherwise this Wonder of a woman would be proven wrong, wrong, wrong about the human behavior she had studied extensively in books.)
Furthermore, the fact that she was "puzzled" about reactions to her obviously strange behavior even with all that information she carried was also quite stupid; that plot point was simultaneously beaten into pulp and completely irrational, given her supposedly superior education. It made her look like a pompous ass, to do or wear what she wanted (or was accustomed to doing on her home island), yet be all affronted by the "irrationality" of the customs surrounding her in Europe, again, even though she was well-read enough to know these customs existed.
Just. Poor. Writing. Marvel does so much better than the treacle hacks at DC.

I know I'm weird. What I found weirder was the complete dearth of agreement on this one. I'm starting to see it now, months after its release.
