As I mentioned here, my neighbors have been fighting to save the Ballard Denny's from the wrecking ball . . . and have succeeded! The building has been designated by some historic review panel as a historic structure! The city council need only now so designate it so.

The neighbor is forwarding news links and such to me as I type, so I'll get a nice timeline and overview of the fight up for the curious in a few days.

Though I'd never considered a time when I would say such a thing -- Yay, Googie!
